Last week, we had the pleasure of exhibiting at The Battery Show Europe 2025 in Stuttgart, Germany — one of the most influential trade shows dedicated to advanced battery technology.

Featured Product: Capsule Filter for Slurry Filtration

One of the most popular items at our booth was our capsule filter, designed specifically for filtering lithium battery slurries before the coating process.We offer single-core, five-core, and seven-core configurations with multiple length options available. Filtration ratings range from 30 to 150 microns to meet various application requirements.

What is lithium battery slurry?

Cathode slurry typically consists of active materials (e.g., NCM, LFP), conductive additives (e.g., carbon black), and binders (e.g., PVDF), dispersed in solvents like NMP.

Anode slurry is often based on graphite with similar additives.

These components are mixed into a highly viscous fluid, which must be evenly applied to the current collector during the coating process.

Why filtration is critical?

During mixing and transfer, the slurry can contain:

• Agglomerated particles or undispersed clumps

• Equipment wear debris such as metallic particles or rubber fragments

• Contaminants from raw material packaging or piping systems

• Solvent impurities

If not properly filtered, these contaminants may cause coating defects, thickness variation, and serious battery issues such as swelling or internal short circuits.
