Product Description

High-Purity PFA Filter Housing

The PFA filter housing is designed for high-purity and highly corrosive liquid filtration where ordinary stainless steel or plastic housings may introduce contamination or have insufficient chemical resistance.

The housing is made from high-purity PFA material and is especially suitable for semiconductor, microelectronics, photovoltaic, pharmaceutical and high-purity chemical applications.

Compared with metal filter housings, a PFA housing contains no exposed metal in the wetted parts, helping reduce the risk of metal ion contamination. It is therefore commonly used in processes where liquid purity is critical.

The housing can be matched with different membrane filter cartridges such as PTFE, PFA, PES or other compatible high-purity cartridges according to the actual chemical and filtration requirement.

Where Is This PFA Filter Housing Used?

Semiconductor and Microelectronics

This is one of the most typical applications for PFA filter housings.

In semiconductor manufacturing, many process chemicals must remain extremely clean because even a very small amount of particles or metal ions can affect wafer quality.

The PFA housing can be installed in chemical delivery systems, wet benches, cleaning lines and chemical circulation systems to filter high-purity chemicals before they reach the production process.

Typical liquids include high-purity acids, alkalis and electronic-grade chemicals.

For example:

Chemical Storage Tank → Pump → PFA Filter Housing → Process Equipment

The filter housing acts as the final protection point before the chemical enters the wafer cleaning or other precision process.

High-Purity Chemical Filtration

PFA filter housings are suitable for filtration of aggressive chemicals where corrosion resistance is important.

Q1: What is the main difference between PES and PP filter cartridges?

PP cartridges are commonly used for pre-filtration and general particle removal. PES membrane cartridges provide finer and more stable filtration accuracy and are usually used at a later filtration stage.

Q2: Which micron rating should I choose?

It depends on the liquid and the required filtration result. For beverage clarification, 0.45 μm may be considered. For finer filtration, 0.22 μm or 0.1 μm may be selected. For high-purity water applications, 0.02 μm to 0.1 μm may be used depending on the process.

Q3: Can I install a 0.22 μm PES cartridge directly after raw water?

It is usually not recommended. If the feed water contains a high particle load, the membrane may block quickly. Pre-filtration is recommended before the PES cartridge.

Q4: Can this cartridge be used for beverage filtration?

Yes. PES membrane cartridges can be used for filtration of compatible beverages, alcohol and other aqueous liquids. The correct filtration rating and seal material should be selected according to the actual product.

Q5: How long can a PES membrane filter cartridge be used?

There is no fixed service life such as 6 or 12 months. Cartridge life depends on feed liquid quality, flow rate, filtration area, operating pressure and contamination load.

In actual operation, replacement is normally determined by increasing differential pressure, reduced flow rate or the customer's validated replacement cycle.

Q6: Can the size and connection be customized?

Yes. Cartridge length, filtration rating, end connection and sealing material can be selected according to the existing filter housing and operating conditions.

Q7: What information is needed for filter selection?

Please provide the liquid type, filtration accuracy, flow rate, operating temperature, pressure, cartridge length, end connection and current filtration process. Pullner can then recommend a more suitable filter configuration.
